Every once in a while, I post J.C. Adams column verbatim, and this time he has some REALLY good dirt to share, so read on.

The Adams Report by J.C. Adams
October 23 - 29, 2006
We're clearing the decks this week in "The Adams Report by JC Adams." Catch up on where Kristen Bjorn is now living and count the scratch Wash West's acclaimed indie film has earned. Plus, New Zealand has its first porn star, Brent Corrigan has changed his name, Chris Ward and Studio 2000 are planning ahead and Chi Chi LaRue storms Berlin. Finally, which set of hunky porn stars have hooked up and which set has broken up…?
BITS AND BOBS
Periodically in this space I take note of indie-mainstream films that cross The Great Divide and depict actual sex. Most of the time it's heterosexual boffing but writer/director John Cameron Mitchell's "Shortbus" is now in theatres courtesy of micro-distributors Thinkfilm and it depicts gay, bi and straight sexcapades. It's also performing fairly well after three weeks in limited release (just 54 screens so far) and a $730,000 total gross…
And gay porn graduate Wash West's "Quinceanera" (co-written and -directed with Richard Glatzer) is playing out its successful arthouse run courtesy of Sony Pictures Classics and its $1.7 million gross is certainly nothing to sneeze at…
New Zealand has recently produced its first-ever homegrown gay porn film, simply titled JOHN from Glitter Films. The lead actor, 25-year-old James L. West, answered a newspaper advertisement and was cast in the film. He's now a quasi-celebrity in his home country. JOHN (billed as "70-percent sex, 30-percent story") is not yet available in this country…
Vet director Kristen Bjorn has relocated from his longtime base in Miami to Barcelona, Spain. However, Mr. Bjorn's second-in-command, The Bear, is still running Sarava Productions in Miami. I'm told three shot-on-location flicks are already in post-production with another about to get underway…
Directrix Chi Chi LaRue is adding a dash of glitter and pizzazz to Berlin for the Venus Erotic Expo, where the dragstress has met with Bel Ami's George Duroy and the Bruno Gmunder crew. The notorious HustlaBall is next on the agenda. In the meantime her Dirty Deeds club continues to unspool in her absence every Wednesday at Fubar in West Hollywood. The October 18th show was overseen by the fab L.A. underground celebutante Morgan with Rascal Video exclusive Cole Ryder as the featured porno celebrity. FubarLA.com will have the complete schedule and check out Ms. LaRue's Hot Tracker blog at Channel1Releasing.com…
Raging Stallion's Chris Ward is wrapping post-production on LORDS OF THE JUNGLE. Shot on location in Hawaii by co-director Ben Leon, LORDS is among the big epics the various studios are arming for year-end release. Now, on his blog, Mr. Ward has announced MIRAGE, a follow-up of sorts to his hit film ARABESQUE. Steve Cruz, Jake Deckard and Dirk Jaeger are already cast with locations being scouted in Palm Springs and Arizona. ChrisWardPornBlog.com is the address to find more scoop…
And speaking of big productions, Studio 2000 (for whom I am now doing production work) has several new flicks on tap including WILDLANDS from writer/director Rick Tugger, whose previous adult films were critical and commercial hits for MSR Videos (WHITE TRASH) and All Worlds Video (THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD). After the New Year's holidays, Studio 2000 launches into pre-production for their big picture for 2007, to be shot on location in various glam Hollywood Hills mansions…
Buckshot's Brian Hansen and COLT's Brad Patton sent out a joint press release announcing they are a couple. Now that's a scorching hot image, huh? They met when they filmed COLT's MANLY HEAT two-parter during which Mr. Patton apparently fucks Mr. Hansen in a speedboat as it races across the water. Can't wait to see that one…
Flipping that coin, earlier this month boyfriends Damon DeMarco and Hunter James posted a joint press release on their blogs announcing their split. They met and became lovers four years ago as housemates in Toronto for Voyeur Dorm's DudeDorm.com and subsequently moved to New York City where they launched joint careers as go-go dancers and porn stars. They remain roommates. Both are kinda-sorta making movies and they do still work in the biz; Mr. James for boutique studio Dirty Boy Video and Mr. DeMarco as an editor for Fleshbot.com. Both also have current and upcoming adult pics in the pipeline. And, er, well, indie outfit Comstock Films still has "Hunter & Damon" making the gay film festival rounds, which is billed as an "intimate documentary [and a] peek into the bedroom" of the two men as they discuss their relationship and sex lives. I feel for the guys, but becoming a "professional couple" in gay porn is the kiss of death for romance…
Controversial porn pup Brent Corrigan has taken on the hallowed mantle of porno bad boys who can't take two steps or open their mouths without pissing someone off. I'm sure Jason Adonis, Billy Brandt and Ethan Marc (who themselves took over for Matt Gunther, Ryan Idol, Vince Rockland…) are happy to let someone else take the heat for a change. Mr. Corrigan is engaged in a legal fight with Cobra Video over his having appeared in several videos while he was underage. The launch of BrentCorriganOnline.com has now been stymied by Cobra Video, whose apparently successful threat of a lawsuit over the use of the "Brent Corrigan" name forced the credit card processing company Mr. Corrigan had signed up to back away (and I do realize that's one side of the story). Now he's telling JasonCurious.com that he is abandoning the Corrigan moniker and carrying on his adult career using his own name, Sean Lockhart. Meanwhile, he's billed as "Fox Ryder" (the character he plays) in Falcon's THE VELVET MAFIA. That is doubtless because Falcon did not feel like engaging a court battle over the "Brent Corrigan" name. Oy, gevalt…
