I really pushed myself to attend as many Folsom related events this year as possible. By Sunday evening, I admit that I was on overload. Sunday morning started bright and early with Sisters coming to pick up items for the booth at the ungodly hour of 8am. (Interpret "ungodly" however you like...) I made brunch for a few friends and we headed out for the big event - Folsom Street Fair. The fair started in 1984, and I believe I have attended every one except the first. Over the years, I've participated in the event in numerous ways - as Stage Manager of the 7th Street stage twice, ran booth a booth for Lavender Lounge distributing free lube, ran a booth for Naked Sword, ran a booth for the Sisters, MC'd on both stages, videotaped a special for my TV show, worked the gates as a Sister, worked the crowd dressed as Diane Feinstein, shot B-roll footage for a porn movie I directed called "Street Fair Meat", threw three infamous after parties, but mostly just ran around shirtless hoping to get laid. At my age, running around shirtless doesn't seem to get me any action anymore, so for the past few years, I've devoted my time to photographing good-looking men who SHOULD run around shirtless.
