The pictures are neither from a movie nor from a magazine spread.

They are taken from a French picture novel, which was done by the late Jean-Daniel Cadinot as far as I know. The book was published according to the copyright in 1982 in France by Editions Marc Dorcel. A translated edition was also published in Germany.

Those are the "Diego" images. I have the full set. It is definitely French although I don't know for sure that it is JDC. I also have another set of images of the same guy with the mustache, but older and not looking as fine as in this set.

This was the full set of picture scans once available on the net as far as I remember. But it is far from complete and missing some of the best.

The complete set in the book has 176 mostly large format pictures printed on glossy paper illustrating the novella. Unfortunately most of the pictures in this set have been cut on all sides to fit the format. The quality of the scans is also a far cry from the quality of the originals. But this is certainly due to the quality of the scanners available then.
