(San Francisco, May 27th, 2008) Titan Media, parent company of gay adult brand TitanMen, is pleased to announce that three of its films were honored at the 2008 Grabby Awards, receiving recognition for more individual films than any other single studio brand. In addition, TitanMen director/videographer Brian Mills was honored and inducted into the Grabbys “Wall of Fameâ€.
This year’s awarded films are:
Breathless: VOD Movie of the Year, MaleFlixxx People’s Choice
FEAR: Best Fetish (Extreme) Video, Grabby Awards
H2O: Best Videographer - Brian Mills and Paul Wilde, Grabby Awards
“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Grabbys, who have once again upped their game and produced one of the best awards shows in the gay adult industry,†says Brian Mills. “I also wanted to thank all the TitanMen, past and present, for being such an important part of Titan Media’s vision of eroticizing and portraying safer sex. I share this recognition with all the TitanMen who have appeared in front of my lens over the past 15 years.â€
Especially satisfying was Bruce Cam’s film Breathless being awarded VOD Movie of the Year by Maleflixxx. This People's Choice Award was voted on by the actual fans from the entire MaleFlixxx.com network and represents the best selling and most voted for film of the year.
“We are truly honored to have once again been recognized by the Grabbys and the fans,†says Bruce Cam, President and CEO of Titan Media. “My team at TitanMen has been working very hard for the past several years to expand and solidify our presence as the premier Gay Adult studio. It’s always nice to see my team’s hard work and efforts be recognized. A special thanks and congratulation goes out to Brian Mills who directed two of our award winning films and was also singled out for his amazing videography in H2O along with Paul Wilde."
FEAR is part of the co-branded TitanMen/Folsom line of hardcore leather/fetish films that have been designated the “Exclusive Leather/Fetish Films of the Folsom Street Fairâ€. A portion of sales from these co-branded DVDs goes to fund non-profit organizations specializing in gay men’s health and education. Due to the overwhelming success of the films, Titan Media was able to donate $25,000 to Folsom Street Events for 2007.
“Having the most individual films to receive awards is a testament to the consistent quality of TitanMen films†says Keith Webb, Vice President of Titan Media. “We have always believed we need to make the very best film we can every single time and not cut corners on some films to fund others. These three film wins, along with the recent Xbiz award for GLBT Studio of the Year, shows we are staying true to our standards and delivering high quality films time after time. â€
Athletic Model Guild announced today that Suruba: Azul, the latest Brazilian orgy title from the company’s premium brand of Latin hardcore, AMG Brasil, is now available.
The film with its cast of 10 youthful Brazilian boys, including cover man Lucas Lucky (Carnaval), is set against the deep blue background of the Atlantic Ocean. The film departs from the lush green settings that made the studio famous. However, following the standard set by the studio’s previous Suruba (Portuguese for orgy) titles, the action in Suruba: Azul is strictly spontaneous, outdoor Brazilian sex.
“I was hanging out with some friends on a private beach just outside of Rio on a day off,†AMG President, Dennis Bell said of his inspiration for Suruba: Azul. “We were just kicking back drinking Caipirinhas on an absolutely cloudless day. The expanse of the sky melded with the horizon of the South Atlantic. After a few rounds, a couple of the guys decided to strip down and go skinny-dipping. They peeled off their sungas (swimsuits) and jumped straight into the clear blue water. When they came out, their caramel skin glistened in the sun like gold against the blue sea. It is a classic tropical color combination. I used that image as the starting point for the film.â€
The film’s opening scene finds Lucas Lucky, who was discovered by Kristen Bjorn, perched atop a dark blue tile wall. In front of him lies an extravagant private pool, complete with waterfall. Behind him, the crisp blue expanse of the Atlantic Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see. The sun kisses his lightly tanned, muscular physique. Bell said finding the right spot was a challenge, but he knew he had located the right place when he saw the ocean view.
“When I saw it, I immediately imagined Lucas jack-hammering one of his costars on the tile, with a clear blue sky, the blue tile of the pool, and the blue Atlantic behind them,†Bell said.
That particular shot shows up about half way through the climax of the film – a seven-man, poolside orgy. Lucas stands over his compact costar, Jack Benelli, driving his member deep inside the boy’s golden ass. Lucas said it was the most exciting scene he had shot for the studio to date.
“You know, I really loved working with Marcelo Mastro in Carnaval,†Lucky said. “He is more my type, but Jack had a crazy energy that just turned me on. I don’t know how to say it, but it was intense. He is insatiable.â€
The ten man cast, in addition to Lucas and Jack, includes five returning AMG Brasilians; Rick Garcia (cover boy Carnaval), Will Castelo (cover boy Suruba: Pecado), Roger Carneiro (Amazônia: Release), Jonny Saullo (Piroca). Three newcomers round out the list; the slender Diego Fontinelle, horse-hung Alex Frias, and sprightly bottom, Leonardo Reis. AMG Brasil is currently shipping Suruba: Azul from the studio’s web store at store.AthleticModelGuild.com
At the final award ceremony of the 2008 season, Raging Stallion finished on top by claiming the GRABBY Awards for Best Picture (GRUNTS) and Best Director (Chris Ward and Ben Leon). Ink Storm was awarded the prize for best fetish film, and Playback won best sex scene for the pairing of Jake Deckard and Remy Delane, both RSS exclusives. Deckard also shared the prize of Performer of the Year and Steve Cruz won Best Newcomer. Cruz is the current RSS Man of the Year. Ricky Sinz got two awards--Best Supporting Actor and Best Solo for (GRUNTS. The staff of Gay Chicago Magazine puts on the GRABBY show in Chicago each year during IML weekend. This is the tenth year of the GRABBY Awards.
The GRABBYS mark the end of the 2008 awards season, a period that began on January 1 with the publication of the Mannet.com top 100 Movies of the Year. The high point was the GayVN awards show in February. Raging Stallion dominated each of the awards shows in 2008, making this the most successful awards season for the studio to date. (GRUNTS was the near unanimous choice for the best movie of 2007. While many of the awards were based on the strength of (GRUNTS, many other RSS movies also won prizes during the year--Mirage, Ink Storm, Playback, Fist And Shout, and Instinct.
"It was our year," commented RSS president Chris Ward. "We really worked hard to make the best movies possible. Our guys have never been better, and the lineup for next year looks even more spectacular! (GRUNTS is going to be a hard act to follow, but we will do our best to keep turning out award winning quality pictures. I am very proud of our studio and of our actors. It took us almost ten years to get to the top (RSS was founded in 1999), but it was worth it. To have RSS included in the ranks of studios such as Channel One, Hot House, and Falcon is a real honor."
Raging Stallion is investing heavily in a major Western Epic to be shot in New Mexico later this summer. The movie will be jointly directed by Chris Ward, Ben Leon, and Tony Dimarco. With a budget almost as large as the $250,000 spent on (GRUNTS, the as yet untitled western will be the studio's main effort for the next award season.
