Folsom Street Fair 2004
Another big holiday in San Francisco has come and gone - Folsom Street Fair. I think I've been to every one of them since they started, except for the very first. As my life changes, so does the manner in which I participate with Folsom Fair.
In the past, I've worked on the planning committee, been Stage Manager of the 7th Street Stage, dressed up in fabulous drag, collected donations at the gates with the Sisters, dressed up as Diane Feinstein when she ran for Governor, MC'd the Main Stage, ran a booth for Lavender Lounge, ran a booth for the Sisters, ran a booth for Naked Sword, shot documentary footage for the Lavender Lounge TV show, shot B-roll footage for a porn video I directed called "Street Fair Meat", and hosted some legendary after-parties at my old Lavender Lounge studio on Folsom. I have also had plenty of opportunities to just show up as a civilian and try to get laid.

This year and the last few years, I've been concentrating on shooting still pictures of cute guys. I enjoy it very much and it's good material for the VIP Room at the Lavender Lounge web site. Shooting pictures is much more low key than other projects I've done, but it's still "work", in that I am selling the photos to a another web site. I suddenly have "responsibilities" again.
Every time I see other people's pictures from Folsom, I feel like I needed to be in 14 places at once in order to capture the whole thing. At 5pm I decided to put the camera in the car and have some fun. Naturally, as soon as I did that, I missed all the best shots! The sun cooperated for the first time all day, and everyone was drunker and looser as the event was winding down. I did get some brilliant shots, but I've got to remind myself that you CAN'T get every shot. I also don't want to be forever known as "the camera geek".
Join Lavender Lounge and check out the 278 photos added from Folsom Fair 2004.
Coming soon - photos from the Raging Stallion movie premier party and BigMuscle.com's Tea Dance!
