Folsom Street Fair 2006

I really pushed myself to attend as many Folsom related events this year as possible. By Sunday evening, I admit that I was on overload.

It started Friday night the Sisters' "Scandalous Behavior" party. It was held at the N'Touch on Polk street, which is off the usual beaten track for leather week, but the town was so full of tourists, EVERYWHERE was hopping. David Arias from GayPress.org drove us around in his convertable - he has the best parking karma! Mr. Pam got onstage with Jason Adonis and offered to have him remove a piece of clothing for every correct answer to porn trivia. Unfortunately, the questions were either too hard, or everyone was too drunk. I should have been able to answer most of the questions, but I stoned myself. I shouted answers as best I could so they weren't standing there dying, but when Mr. Pam realized it wasn't going well on stage, she just decided to start sucking Jason Adonis's dick! We also hit a party at Deco Lounge that featured a "Dick Contest", and I got some pictures of that, too. Last I heard, that's still illegal in bars in California - except when Michael Brandon hosts. He always gets away with showing his dick.

Saturday afternoon, BigMuscle.com and Titan sponsored their big party at Mezzanine. For the past few years, Big Muscle and Big Muscle Bear has become THE place to hook up online, much to the chagrin of the usual cruisey brick-and-mortar venues, so it was nice to see all those digital profiles come to life. The event was not only the launch of BigMuscleLeather.com, it was also the premier of Titan's "Folsom Filth".

Titan had the whole cast of "Folsom Filth" on hand including Alex Baresi, Tober Brandt, Damien Crosse, Darius Falke, and François Sagat. And speaking of Francois Sagat - when I walked into the VIP Room and caught Francois's eye, his face lit up and gave me a big hug and kiss! I was completely flustered and tongue tied, but we had a nice chat. (He actually speaks better English than I thought.) I also met Diesel Washington who is so gigantic, he picked up Francois and held him like a baby! I also met the adorable baby-faced Damien Crosse who was also very sweet, and got a big kiss from another heart throb, Tober Brandt.

I think Tober is trying to be the Johnny Knoxville of gay porn with all wacky sex stunts he pulls. When I kissed him, I had to be a little careful because he had a 5 inch silver toothpick stuck through both cheeks! Eeek. But that was nothing compared to his "outfit" on Sunday - he had four metal hooks embedded in his back, each with a 3 foot piece of 1" chain hanging from it. It looked like he should be hanging over the stove with the Circulon. And, yes, I have pictures of it. (Haven't you joined YET?)

I shot some amazing photos at the Big Muscle / Titan party that are also available to VIP Members of Lavender Lounge.

From there, I met Retardo and the gang at the Eagle, had some Thai food, charged the camera batteries and hit the Raging Stallion party. Hung out with Derrick Hanson, Tony Bishop, Mario Cruz (all local boys), plus Kent Taylor, photographer from Raging Stallion, Troy from Falcon, Jon Duede from Unzipped, and spent quality time with Falcon Exclusive Roman Heart, another adorable porn pup. Jake Deckard got named Raging Stallion Man of the Year. (You can see his strip show in the VIP Room, too.)

Sunday morning started bright and early with Sisters coming to pick up items for the booth at the ungodly hour of 8am. (Interpret "ungodly" however you like...)

I made brunch for a few friends and we headed out for the big event - Folsom Street Fair. The fair started in 1984, and I believe I have attended every one except the first. Over the years, I've participated in the event in numerous ways - as Stage Manager of the 7th Street stage twice, ran booth a booth for Lavender Lounge distributing free lube, ran a booth for Naked Sword, ran a booth for the Sisters, MC'd on both stages, videotaped a special for my TV show, worked the gates as a Sister, worked the crowd dressed as Diane Feinstein, shot B-roll footage for a porn movie I directed called "Street Fair Meat", threw three infamous after parties, but mostly just ran around shirtless hoping to get laid. At my age, running around shirtless doesn't seem to get me any action anymore, so for the past few years, I've devoted my time to photographing good-looking men who SHOULD run around shirtless.

Unlike last year, I stumbled across most of the gay porn studio's booths - Falcon, Titan, Raging Stallion, Hot House, COLT, and they all had a bevy of stars on hand.
