Miss Trannyshack 2006
Everyone was buzzing last week about the Miss Trannyshack Pageant, and although I couldn't motivate myself to get there, I have some photos from backstage to share. (Photos by Scott Mars.)
Fresh from playing a judge in "Justice", Hot House's Steven Scarborough was a judge for the Trannyshack pageant, and brought along some Hot House exclusives as eyecandy to balance out the drag quotient. He brought along my next ex-husband, Nick Piston, Robert Van Damme, Matt Cole and others. Other celebrities in attendance as either judges, performers, or hangers-on included Lady Bunny, Di-Lite's Lady Miss Kier, and "Surreal Life's" Alexis Arquette. But the biggest surprise guest was someone routinely emulated by Retardo, none other than Parker Posey! (Look for the big Great Garbo glasses.)
My spies who attended the pageant all agreed that the show was good, but the contestants this year were lackluster. Someone named Raya Light was named the winner. After 10 years of flogging that dead horse, I guess the best performers have already won, or gotten too old to care.
Speaking of too old to care, Precious Moments (aka porn star Michael Soldier) is the headliner this week at Trannyshack. This Tuesday, 11/28 - "TSI-Tranny Scene Investigation"! Precious Moments has returned from the morgue with evidence of a clue! Commit & uncover with her all-star accomplices at this criminal episode of Trannyshack....wear gloves! With performances by : Heklina, Kiddie, Mercy Fuque, Hoku Mama, Metal Patricia, Tarda Vixen, Veronica Klaus, Peggy L'eggs, and a special appearance by Varla Jean Merman! I might have to go to this one.
UPDATE: Retardo reminded me that he singlehandedly saved Alexis Arquette a lifetime of embarrassment. The night before Miss Trannyshack, we attended the stepping-down party for last year's winner at the Cinch. At one point, Retardo noticed that Ms. Arquette had just walked out of the ladies room, and pointed out to her that she had with toilet paper stuck to her shoe! Horror or horrors! See, chivalry is NOT dead!
