LIVE NUDE Golden Girls
No, they were not NUDE, but last weekend we were fortunate enough to see a LIVE stage version of two episodes of Golden Girls. Local tranny actresses Pollo Del Mar, Cookie Dough, Heklina and the ever fabulous Matthew Martin portrayed the iconic TV characters of Dorothy, Sophia, Rose and Blanche (left to right).
Michael Finn has the advantage of living in a Victorian apartment that is so large he can stage a play for 50 or more people in his living room! Talk about a "jewel box theater"! The Victoriana detail made it a classy enough event for the bf and I to get dressed up nice, too.
They performed two classic Golden Girls episodes, with appropriate commercial breaks in between. First was the episode where Blanche's brother Clayton announced he was gay. On TV, Monte Markman played the role very butch and sympathetically, but Michael Finn took the role WAY over the top and gay gay gay!
The second episode was a Christmas show where Rose wanted to be Volunteer of the Year, which allowed the ever sweet Betty White as Rose revert to her bitchy Susanne character from Mary Tyler Moore.
Golden Girls performed live in someone's living room - another "only in San Francisco" event!
