Tony Ward Photos Reissued By COLT As Franco Kier
Back in the 1980's when porn was still pretty underground, a model named Tony Ward made the circuit of gay skin rags and caused quite a sensation. Even back then, millions of guys came and went, but for some reason Tony Ward caught people's attention, including me.
I have a photo spread of Tony Ward in In Touch Magazine from around 1986. It just sat with my pile of favorite magazines for a few years and I thought I was his only fan. Years later, he moved up the ranks to dating Madonna. (Yes, THAT Madonna!) When he appeared in Madonna's "Justify My Love" video in 1990, gay men really noticed him. Around that time a friend mentioned a Tony Ward in that video. I told him rather matter of factly, "I think I have pictures of him naked."
"You have pictures of Tony Ward NAKED????!!!", he squealed. I photocopied them and mailed them to him.
Now fast-forward to today, and I find out he also posed for COLT.
The guys at COLT recently received a nice email from Tony Ward (COLT Man Franco Kier) asking them for permission to use his COLT Man images shot by famed COLT photographer Jim French oh so many years ago... He's got a new site and he personally wrote to them expressing his adoration to his COLT experience and how much it meant to him... They are sending him photographs since he said an angry ex-girlfriend got very jealous seeing him pose in the nude.
You might remember Tony from his appearance in Madonna's "Justify My Love" video (1990), Bruce La Bruce's release "Hustler White" (1997) and more recently a guest appearance on last year's "Project Runway" when one of the final contestants (Santino Rice) stayed with Tony and his wife while showing Tim his clothes he designed and planned to show at Bryant Park.
Enjoy the photos, but you can see much more at the COLT website. If I get at least five requests for those photos of Tony Ward from In Touch in the Comments section, I will go ahead and dig through hundreds of old magazines to find it.
