"Alley Cats" - Film Noir Gay Porn Feature By Randy Blue
This just reinforces my theory that most guys who get into shooting gay porn are really just frustrated indie film makers at heart.
Gay porn websites like Randy Blue, Sean Cody and Jake Cruise set a trend over the last few years by creating a certain formula:
-"reality" porn that breaks the Fourth Wall.
-models that fit the look of conventional handsome "leading man" type.
-no twinks.
-lots of free sample photos and videos.
-strong support from a network of affiliates.
-site named after an imaginary person.
-content shot almost exclusively for the web rather than DVD.
Established gay porn studios like Falcon are now trying to catch up and mimic the above formula after seeing a decline in DVD sales. They are thinking twice about story-based gay porn blockbusters as their bread and butter and looking at ways to re-invent themselves. For example, Falcon's new site, FalconStr8Men.com is a direct response to compete with reality sites, following the formula above.
So now I find this trailer for "Alley Cats", a new project from Randy Blue which looks just like a big studio story-based movie with a plot! WTF? The trailer looks REALLY good, and being a fan of film noir, it looks pretty true to form. But like I theorized, as soon as a gay boy with a camera gets a few dollars, he wants to make a Hollywood epic!
In Randy Blue's "Alley Cats", the murder victim (Derrek Diamond)...the suspect (Reese Rideout)... the detective (Chris Rockway)... the guard (Tyler Johnson)... the prisoner (Sean Everett)... and the reporter (James Hawk). Interrogation has never been this hot!
