Michael Lucas News - Fired On the Set and Wilfred Knight

Michael Lucas always sends so much promo material, sometimes it all just blends together. (For that matter, ALL the gay porn companies send so much promo material it all blends together...) But today, for some reason, a picture in an email caught my eye. It was the gorgeous Wilfred Knight, who is supposedly making a come back. (Comeback? I didn't know he went anywhere.)

You can look forward to the yet untitled Wilfred Knight vehicle around August 19th. Scheduled to fuck, suck, rim, pee on each other, and hem their skirts on camera will be Arpad Miklos, Anthony Marks, Victor Steele, Ben Andrews, Tommy Deluca, Jackson Wild and more.

Coincidentally, I also received a copy of Michael Lucas's Auditions 25 "Fired On the Set!" in the mail today. Oh oh. Now I'm hooked. Why did someone get fired? I HAD to find out.

I watched the DVD and it turns out an 18 year old named Caleb started his "audition" with a buzz-cut blond named Tucker. Everything was going fine. He stopped the scene and said, "I can't do this."

The crew was caught by surprise, and Michael tried to figure out what went wrong. The crew left the room (with the camera still running) to allow him to decide if he wanted to continue, but he didn't back down. An assistant came in and told him, "Get dressed. Michael would like to see you." When the boss "wants to see you", that always means trouble.

It's not unusual for things to go wrong on a porn shoot, especially with issues of intimacy. When I was 18, I never even HEARD of licking armpits or sucking toes! But if I was 18 and auditioning for a gay porn movie where I knew I was expected to perform anal sex and cock sucking, then licking armpits and toe sucking would be the lease of my concerns.

To me, this exchange was FASCINATING! I love behind the scenes stuff. Before the age of reality television, there was a clearer distinction between "usable footage" and "non-usable footage". Efficient film making utilizes every inch of tape, even "hidden camera" footage, for DVD Extras, tube sites and Special Editions. As a reminder to producers out there, always get the model release forms signed BEFORE the shoot! Had Lucas not gotten a signed release before the shoot, the kid would have never signed and this brilliant slice of life would be lost.
