TESTOSTERONE opens November 5th at the Camera 3 in San Jose
Dean (David Sutcliffe) cant seem to finish the follow-up to his incredibly
successful first novel, I was a Teenage Speed Freak. His fans wait in
expectation, and his editor, Louise (Jennifer Coolidge) keeps hounding him
to get to work. But Dean cant think of anything right now other than his
missing Argentine lover, Pablo (Antonio Sabato, Jr.), who went out one night
for cigarettes and never came back.
This is no ordinary romantic fixation or simple amber alert its a
maniacal obsession that quickly finds Dean on a plane to Buenos Aires.
Minutes after landing, Dean heads for Pablos family home where he accosts
his mother (Sonia Braga) and meets Sofia (Celina Font), the sophisticated
owner of a caf that happens to sit right across the street.
Deans pursuit also finds him bedding down with the bellboy at his hotel,
unknowingly encountering Pablos Argentine lover at a local bookstore, and
crashing the wedding reception of a very close acquaintance.
As Dean uncovers more and more truths about Pablo, his mother, and Sofia,
trouble starts swirling around him. When he finally confronts his ex-lover,
Deans wielding a machete (because hes decided a chainsaw would make too
much noise).
Based on the novel by James Robert Baker and directed by SFILGFF Audience
Award-winner David Moreton (EDGE OF SEVENTEEN), this torrid and
sophisticated production examines that fine line between love and obsession.
