Behind the Scenes: Falcon's "Big Dick Club"

After running into Rod Barry at the Eagle a second time in recent weeks (he's already a regular there...), he invited me to visit the set of Falcon's newest upcoming movie, "Big Dick Club". The story of "Big Dick Club" is that young guys find flyers for some sort of bar, bath house, sex club, tea room or knitting circle that boasts a lot of... you guessed it - BIG DICKS!

It stars, among others, little German noodle Duncan Princo, newcomer Damon Phoenix, Falcon exclusive Pierre Fitch, and Pierre's legally-married-in-Canada-husband Ralph Woods. I'll discuss Pierre and Ralph in another blog entry, but for now, let's talk about the production.

It's been a long time since I have been on the set of a big gay porn production. In fact, as I was chatting with Greg Lenzman, the still photographer on half of every gay porn shoot of recent memory (Mick Hicks shoots the other half...), the last time I worked on a big production they hadn't invented digital cameras yet!

Greg Lenzman had his laptop set up in a spare room so he could sort the previous day's work during breaks, then burn it to a DVD to submit to Falcon's Art Department. From there, they put it on the server for anyone in the art department to access as they need it. WOW! Back when I directed movies, you'd have to drop off the film and wait a couple days while sweating bullets that all your settings were right, hope you requested the right "push" or "pull" at the lab, and prayed you remembered to remove the lens cap! Then you had the task of standing over a light table to sort through a zillion little slides, then send them out once again to get prints and hoping that it will actually be in focus when you finally get it blown up! You kids have it so easy today.

Domini the makeup guy is another familiar face at every other gay porn shoot. I'm used to seeing drag queens with a big makeup case overflowing with colors, glitter and rhinestones. This time though, it was funny to see this giant makeup case filled with nothing but 47 different shades of BEIGE! How dull! Isn't there a special shade for ass-pucker pink or penis-head mauve? For all the butt cheeks that makeup girls have to shave on porn shoots, they deserve a medal.

It was a pleasant surprize to see Michael Soldier working on the crew. He's usually associated with Raging Stallion, but in this incestuous business, everyone is in bed with one another, literally or figuratively. He wanted me to mention that he is appearing in a legit thee-ah-tah production of "House of Blue Leaves" (by John Guare, author of "Six Degrees of Separation") at the Actors Theater here in San Francisco - "This sharp-witted black comedy is a biting commentary about our society's cancerous obsession with fame and celebrity....". As a gossip monger, this sounds right down my alley!

I kind of expected I'd see the lovely Colby Taylor (see right) working on the crew, and there he was! He is just so cuddly and adorable, I love hanging out with him! However, for some reason, Colby Taylor thinks I have a big mouth and I'm going to expose some highly classified information about the gay porn industry that will endanger national security or something! Relax honey, if I start blabbing my mouth about something I'm not supposed to repeat, you have my permission to just shove your big dick in it, alright?

And speaking of guys with big dicks, the director of "Big Dick Club" was none other than Chris Steele, and big daddy was definitely in charge of this latest Falcon epic. He was kind enough to fill me in on the rest of the cast for "Big Dick Club" and discussed the merits of pairing up smaller, skinny guys together so they look proportionate in size. Although Chris Steele is accustomed to working with big bruisers like Matthew Rush, Josh Weston and Erik Rhodes, he's learned that guys who look really skinny in person often look absolutely stunning on camera. Where else can you see a nice 12 pack other than on a 19 year old that is too young to know the joys of Hagen Daaz? Case in point, they had several unopened packages of white Hanes briefs on the set that were too big one model - and they were from the BOYS department!

I finally did get to see Ralph Woods' legendary piece of "wood" as he was standing on the sun porch (see below). Ohmygawd, how does that skinny little body hold enough blood to fill up that monster without him feeling faint? Just thinking about his dick erect, I'm getting a little faint....
