Gay Radio Show Coming in January
Howard Stern is right.
When Howard Stern moves to Sirius, it is going to change the entire radio business. Starting in January, there will be an all-gay morning radio show in San Francisco. That is a big deal!
Instead of a "Morning Zoo", will it be a "Morning Tea Room"?

LOS ANGELES, California—November 17, 2005— Instinct Magazine is pleased to announce the launch of Twist, a syndicated Gay and Lesbian commercial radio show that will launch on January 14, 2006. To be carried in almost a dozen major markets around the country including Disney/ABC’s 95.5 WPLJ (New York), Clear Channel’s STAR 98.7 FM (Los Angeles), Infinity’s ALICE 97.3 FM (San Francisco), Susquehanna’s Q100.5 (Atlanta) and on the internet everywhere at AOL Radio, TWIST is set to become the first commercial radio program of its kind.
TWIST is the brainchild of the LOGO Network and Wilderness Media & Entertainment founder Matt Farber, who officially joined the Instinct team in June of this year. “TWIST will target not only gay and lesbian audiences, but also our ‘gay adjacent’ friends and family”, remarked Farber. “At launch, TWIST will reach the largest audience of any gay media intiative including the new gay television networks” added Farber, “and we fully expect to grow that reach as more affiliate stations are added.”
TWIST will be hosted by three prominent gay voices: Well-established writer , Hollywood insider, and Bravo personality Dennis Hensley; Big Brother alum, LOGO’s Round-Trip Ticket host and recent Instinct cover guy Will Wikle; and Melissa Carter, a hysterical and well-loved out radio personality from Atlanta.
“Commercial radio still commands huge audiences throughout the U.S. and Instinct’s involvement with TWIST will help take the #1 gay men’s magazine to the next level. We see a whole new way for the audience to bond with Instinct, which is already well known as the most interactive and ‘social’ gay publication in the market”, said Instinct Publisher JR Pratts. “TWIST’s ‘morning show’ format and conversational tone mirrors Instinct’s personality and Instinct editors and personalities will appear regularly on the weekly show”, added Pratts.
